The Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice (IFTJ) is an annual gathering of students from Jesuit institutions from all across the country. Each year Ignatian family gathers to respond to the justice issues of our day and honor the lives of the Salvadoran martyrs. The event serves to educate and provide the opportunity for advocacy and action on a variety of issues, including anti-racism, im/migration, and other important social justice concerns.

The Teach-In commemorates the anniversary of the 6 Jesuit priests and 2 lay women at the University of Central America who were murdered on November 16, 1989 by U.S.-trained Salvadoran troops.

The Ignatian Family Teach-In is a powerful experience, especially for students, who connect with their faith through education, liturgy, and nonviolent action. The Ignatian Family Teach-In began in 1998 under the guidance of Bob Holstein and the Jesuit Companions. Under the direction of the Ignatian Solidarity Network, the teach-in has grown in each year since its inception, attracting over 1,500 people from nearly all 27 Jesuit Colleges and Universities and many Jesuit High Schools.

Student Cost: $250 with scholarships upon request.
